This program introduces many of the main concepts within the field of sociology such as culture, socialization, norms, social roles, values, deviance, and social structure. In addition, students are taught how to recognize and begin to understand the social relationships and interactions between the individual, social groups, and society, as well as the basic research methods and theoretical perspectives of modern sociology.This program also introduces the various sub-fields of anthropology: physical anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, and cultural anthropology. It includes some examination of human evolution and cultural development.
