Sports Science

The Master of Sports Science is designed to build up specialist knowledge and skills concerning conditioning and strength and higher performance science of elite athletes. The program is acceptable for graduates in sports and exercise science aspiring for a career in high performance sport, or for established professionals such as domestic and global strength and conditioning trainers, or higher performance managers seeking professional updates. Completed in 12 months and 4 months (4 semesters), the initial two semesters are comprised of specialist on-campus coursework, followed closely by the internship which integrates applied sports science /intensity and conditioning training and a research component. This component has been undertaken within an professional or semiprofessional sporting organisation by whom Bond University has arrangements for student internships. Alternatively, students might elect to tackle their own internship using an external organisation or employer relative to their own field of work, with prior approval from Bond University. The program will culminate with the entry of a peer-reviewed manuscript that could possibly meet the requirements for novel, providing an additional pathway for students to progress to additional postgraduate research. The system provides students with exposure to authentic high performance sports science learning both on campus and also in industry. The coursework component is delivered primarily at the world-class Bond Institute of Public Health & Sport, at which students will obtain practical knowledge from the universities powerful health spa, health science labs and sports science research labs.
