Students of the course will: Employ complex knowledge of training theories to the structure and delivery of effective training programs for athletes; gain a depth of understanding within a broad range of training modalities to the improvement of athletic potential for example strength, ability, speed and pace and endurance, flexibility, and endurance; understand the use of the strength and conditioning coach and develop professional communication strategies appropriate for working in a strength and conditioning environment; apply advanced training and communication skills required to produce methods to authentic (real-world or ill defined ) issues; gain higher level familiarity with this utilization of conditioning and strength principles to a range of groups including rehabilitation and youth populations; undertake a work-integrated placement that'll develop your learnt skills and knowledge of conditioning and strength; and critically assess research to come up with evidence-based approaches that educate the progress of conditioning and strength training.
- An undergraduate bachelor degree in Sport and Exercise Science or related field
- OR an undergraduate bachelor degree within an non-related field with successful completion of University degree units concerning individual anatomy, human anatomy, biomechanics and basic exercise prescription. Those individuals without a degree but who have 5 years experience working full time at a strength and conditioning role will be considered. Please contact the course convenor for additional specifics. Suitability to get non-degree entry is assessed via communications with the program convenor.
