The tourism industry has experienced continued growth and diversification to become one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world. In Britain, tourism employs around 2.6 million people and supports over 200,000 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
This programme has been developed to meet the demand for successful entrepreneurs and managers in tourism. It aims to provide you with a critical understanding of the study of tourism management and the global tourism marketplace, and also the ability and confidence to creatively and innovatively solve management problems in the tourism industry.
You will develop skills and knowledge in areas such as tourism marketing, human resource management, innovation and product development, and destination planning, while gaining insights from UK and international visits, case studies and industry examples. On graduation from this programme you will also be proficient in a European Language.
Students on this programme may apply to participate in overseas exchanges with our Erasmus partners.
The aims of the programme are:
- To develop a critical understanding of the global tourism industry
- To be able to creatively solve tourism management problems and apply principles of sustainability to the development of tourism
- To develop an entrepreneurial approach to tourism and to produce creative managers and researchers in the field of tourism.

Applicants should have:
280 UCAS points or above (or equivalent)
PLUS GCSE (minimum grade C) in English and mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
Applicants who do not have English as their first language require IELTS 6 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill) or equivalent.
Applications from mature students are welcome.
Direct Entry to Year 2 and 3 is available for qualified applicants. Students on this programme may apply to participate in overseas exchanges with our Erasmus partners.
