The University offers 2 different Excellence Scholarships to Students: 1) Excellence Scholarships and 2) Starr International Foundation Scholarship Fund. Excellence Scholarships are granted to foreign students enrolled in Bachelor studies at the University of St.Gallen on the basis of merit. The Starr International Foundation Scholarships are for highly talented foreign-language students with a recognised foreign Bachelor’s degree who are completing a Master’s degree in 1 of the English-language programmes.

The scholarship amount for the Excellence Scholarships for Bachelors degree students covers the current tuition fees at the Bachelors Level (which runs for 6 semesters). At present, a grantee receives an annual sum of CHF 6,252 per year, bringing the total award for 3 years to CHF 18,756.
Each scholar under the Starr International Foundation Scholarships will receive a grant in the amount of CHF 20,000 per year.

Applicants for the Excellence Scholarships must possess internationally recognised relevant educational qualifications and certificates, and must pass the University of St.Gallen’s internal admission test.
Exceptional students identified by the Advice Center for Study Funding on the basis of various criteria, will be automatically considered for the Starr International Foundation Scholarships.
For the Excellence Scholarships, candidates must submit a letter of motivation and a 2-minute video in mp4 quality after they have been admitted to the university. The 600-word letter of motivation should explain why the applicant chose the field of study and the University of St.Gallen and make a case for receiving the scholarship.
The video should be creative, and applicants must introduce themselves, as well as include the curriculum vitae (which includes their background and family). The video should also show the extracurricular activities they participate in. Reference persons can also appear in the video. The scholarship application deadline for Autumn entry is 16 July.
