The scholarship will cover for 1 academic year the following:

• Full payment of University tuition fees
• Stipend for living expenses
• One return economy air ticket from the home country to the UK, and the cost of return travel between the UK airport and Durham City
• Fully funded, self-catered, single room in mixed accommodation at Hatfield College
• Settling in allowance on arrival
• Cost of UK visa and the UK Health surcharge.

The Scholarship does not provide funding for dependents, nor for travel during the Scholarship. Accommodation is for the Scholarship holder only; dependents cannot be accommodated.

Applicants should:

• hold a relevant honours degree of sufficient standard to be admitted to their chosen Masters course; and
• have all other course entry requirements including the relevant English language qualification. UK immigration regulations require the University to ensure that international applicants accepted for study in the UK are competent in English language at a minimum level of B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for speaking, listening, reading and writing. Even those from countries in which education is carried out in English will need to provide evidence of a specific qualification that meets this requirement (awarded no more than 2 years before the start of your course).

Scholarship applicants must be those with the academic and personal qualities to enable them to complete and benefit from a postgraduate course and who will also act as a positive ambassador for their home country in Durham, and put their enhanced knowledge and skills gained from the Masters programme and experience in Durham to good use for the benefit of their society when they return home.

Those who already have a Masters degree and who have the financial means to study for a Masters degree in the UK, are ineligible.
