Eligible applicants are both domestic and international students, who are enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, in the Fenner School of Environment & Society, at the Australian National University. Applicants will be assessed on the student’s research potential. This will take into account a measure of the applicant’s overall performance in undergraduate, and (if any) Master’s coursework, as well as an assessment of their most recent graded research writing (thesis) and accomplishments (research publications, awards, referee evaluation).
There is no separate scholarship application as students are automatically considered based on them meeting the eligibility criteria. Applications for the PhD program can be submitted at any time during the year, but if you want to be considered for a scholarship for studies commencing no later than 31 March, then you have to apply by:

• 31 October for domestic students.
