The Scholarship provides coverage for fees and maintenance for three years, but students can choose to defer part of the scholarship during the third year when doing research abroad. Additional funding may be available for write-up during the fourth year. Award minimum value: £22000 Award maximum value: £37000

Preference will be given to those whose research aims to place Japan within the larger context of the world, either in its multilateral focus or through its disciplinary impact.
