Description
The study programme is designed to give students the best training in the archaeological profession as well as to provide knowledge and skills needed to ensure a good start in other fields.
Our programme encompasses a wide variety of subjects, including general humanities courses as well as science - oriented courses, such as Techniques of Securing and Processing Data Statistics important assets on the modern job market.
The study programme places an emphasis on Mediterranean Archaeology provides the knowledge needed for students to take part in archaeological expeditions and explorations all over the world. Excavations Training is obligatory during the course of studies and the Institute of Archaeology offers numerous sities for students to choose form.

Required documents for undergraduate studies candidates:
- Polish Diploma of Matriculation (matura), IB Diploma, EB diploma, or a foreign diploma confirming secondary school completion* - all of the documents may be submitted in their original form or as a certified copy
*(PLEASE NOTE! In the case of diplomas issued by countries with whom Poland has not signed the bilateral agreement on the recognition of educational credentials, or in the case of countries with which such an agreement exists, but the specific document itself does not fall under the agreement, the said document or diploma must be officially recognized in Poland after the commencement of studies by the student),
- A filled-in, printed copy of the student application form - the form is available at the candidate personal registration account (see -> registration on-line),
- A copy of the candidates personal ID or of another document confirming the candidates identity,
- 2 photographs compliant with Polish regulations concerning personal identification photographs (visible left ear)
- Application requesting the issuing of the student electronic ID card ( Elektroniczna Legitymacja Studencka or ELS). The application needs to printed once the candidates data and photo have been filled in and uploaded onto the candidates personal registration account (see -> registration on-line) the fee for the issuing of the student card is included in the tuition fee,
Copies of documents allowing for the candidate to commence studies (copy of the diploma of secondary school completion, copy of the Polish ID or of other documents confirming the candidates identity) may be sent via mail to the Institute of Archeology (to the address: Instytut Archeologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, ul. Krakowskie Przedmie´scie 26/28, 00-927 Warszawa) or sent via fax (fax nr. +48225522811) starting December 1, 2011. Please include on the envelope or in the fax heading the note : Komisja Rekrutacyjna (Admission Committee) for mail/fax segregation purposes. The original or certified copies of diplomas along with other required documents must be delivered to the Institute of Archeology only after the names of accepted candidates have been posted by the Admission Committee.
Admission procedures vary depending on the type of candidates secondary school completion diploma.
