Financial Assistance

As in most countries, the HKSAR Government does not provide financial aid to non-local students.  However, thanks to the Government’s support for the development of Hong Kong as an educational hub for students from around the world, HKU’s tuition fees are very low by international standard.  With the current student visa policy, non-local students can undertake part-time work on campus during the semester, and a full-time internship during their summer vacation in the city.  Graduates can take up full-time employment on finishing their studies at HKU.

The Faculty values international diversity of our student population. Each year, over 350 incoming exchange students are admitted to study under our Faculty.

Exchange students must:

  • be officially nominated by home universities;
  • be in good academic standing (minimum grade average of 70%);
  • achieve English language proficiency.

Nominated students will be informed of the online application procedures via email after the nomination deadline.
