10 Week English Language Bridging (ELB)

The 10-week English Language Bridging program is intended to establish academic literacy, mediation skills and English language competence at level B2+ as well as c 1 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The class develops reading, writinglistening and speaking skills with equal importance in addition to presenting field-specific content in prep for students' main stream studies. Week 1 and week 2 of the class prepares students to both academic, welfare and social aspects of studying at Curtin University and how to deal with life in Australia as an international student. Measure 1 and 2 of the class also allow students to review and revise their own knowledge of basic academic literacy skills into talking and writing.
