Accounting and Bookkeeping

This qualification reflects the project functions of workers in the accounting business, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; rather than those employees performing accounting tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It includes lodging and preparing business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or addressing the Commissioner on behalf of a citizen in relation to activity statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work peacefully, and exercise decision in completing regular and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions from the occupational areas where this eligibility may be utilized are susceptible to regulatory conditions. Check with this FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate ruler for specific help with requirements.Persons giving a small business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward must be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is currently cited as meeting the TPB education requirements for registration. Other states apply, including a designated period of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should check current registration conditions with the TPB, as registration requirements are assessed regularly.
