Accounting and Bookkeeping

This qualification reflects the job roles of workers in the accounting business, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and of these employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It has preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner for a citizen in relation to actions statements. Individuals in those roles employ theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work peacefully, and training judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions from the occupational areas where this eligibility may be properly utilized are susceptible to regulatory requirements. Refer to this FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate regulator for particular help with requirements.Persons offering a small business activity statement (BAS) service for a fee or other reward must be filed by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and this eligibility is currently cited as fulfilling with the TPB education requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, including a predetermined amount of experience. Persons searching BAS agent registration should assess current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements have been evaluated regularly.
