Accounting and Bookkeeping

This qualification reflects the occupation functions of workers within the accounting business, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and most of course the employees performing bookkeeping tasks for businesses in a range of industries. It includes preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or addressing the Commissioner with respect to a citizen in relation to actions statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and expert understanding and expertise to work properly, and training decision in completing regular and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions from the occupational areas where this eligibility may be used are susceptible to specific regulatory requirements. Refer to the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the relevant ruler for particular assistance with requirements.Persons offering a business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward must be filed by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and this eligibility is currently cited as fulfilling with the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other states apply, including a designated period of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should assess current registration requirements with all the TPB, as registration requirements are evaluated regularly.
