The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that there are approximately 10 percent more job openings than applicants for college graduates with expertise in agriculture and business.
The opening of new trade opportunities, changes in government policies affecting agriculture, increasing integration and concentration in food and fiber industries, and growing concerns about environmental quality and food safety have contributed to this growing need for more specialized, in-depth training applying economic and business principles within the unique institutional marketing environment in which agribusinesses operate.
