Anthropology

Anthropologists contribute to understanding literally any aspect of the human condition, whether very ordinary or spectacular and monumental. Different types of anthropologists пПС socio-cultural anthropologists, archaeologists, biological anthropologists, and linguistic anthropologistsпПСdo different sorts of things. Anthropology at UPEI especially emphasizes the socio-cultural stream of the discipline, with some additional offerings in biological anthropology and archaeology. Note for the Honours BA in Anthropology: The Honours research course (Anthropology 490) constitutes the research component of the Honours program. The course involves supervised reading and research on specific topics. The student is required to write a substantial Honours essay or research report, which will be assessed by a three-member committee consisting of the supervisor, one additional member of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, and a member from another Department.
