The Masters programme in Language Sciences with a specialization in applied English linguistics is intended to give language professionals a chance to develop their knowledge and skills. It aims to cover recent findings and research methods in areas relevant to language teaching, translation, editing, and other language-related fields. By comparison with the specialization in English, this programme is more directed towards uses of English worldwide in, for example, education and business. The main focus of the programme is therefore on practical situations in which the English language is a key component, but it also offers courses in general English linguistics, which provide an essential basis for advanced study.
