This qualification reflects the function of those who act as master diagnostic technicians that the automotive repair and service industry; servicing, assessing and repairing vehicle electrical systems and components. A range of higher level electrical diagnostic abilities and comprehension is necessary, and supervision and leadership of others are expected.No certification, mediation or legislative requirements affect the eligibility during the time of publication.

Those project Certificate IV in Automotive Electrical Technology must have completed AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or be able to demonstrate equivalent proficiency.
