The Bachelor of Aviation will equip you to get a professional career as a pilot. You will tackle commercial flying training at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, located at Moorabbin Airport, to receive your Commercial Pilot Licence and operate with a multi-crew jet-aircraft. Additional optional flying qualifications are readily available. You may study the theory units required by CASA up to and including Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) standard, in addition to studies in aviation human factors, aviation management and aviation technology.
The Job of Aviation is structured to Fulfill the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements for Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence and Air Transport Pilot Licence theory examination for aeroplanes.
- Year 12 or equivalent
- VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: the absolute minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or 30 in English (EAL)
- And Components 3 and 4: some minimum study score of 20 in Mathematical procedures. Just before selection, all short listed candidates need to attend a meeting and skills assessment evaluation, conducted at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy in late November. Even though maybe perhaps not an entry requirement, students must satisfy the statutory Course 1 medical essentials of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority if undertaking practical flying training into commercial stage.
