Biological issues are at the forefront of the technological advance of modern society, and are central to global concerns about how we affect, and are affected by, our environment. Understanding the complexity of biological systems, at scales ranging from single molecules to whole ecosystems, provides a unique intellectual challenge. The biosciences aim to understand living systems and to help preserve biodiversity and our environment and simultaneously produce sufficient healthy and safe food. With twenty-four biological research groups, Wageningen University can offer tailor-made MSc programmes that allow students to specialise in a field that appeals to their personal interest. The following themes are offered during the MSc programme. * Animal adaptation and behavioural biology * Biointeractions * Molecular ecology * Conservation and systems ecology * Evolution and biodiversity * Health and disease * Marine biology * Molecular development and gene regulation * Plant adaptation We strongly encourage our students to complete part of their programme requirements abroad.
