With your knowledge and analytical abilities, you are going to perform diagnostic and scientific procedures on trials like human body fluids, cells, and swabs to research identify and cure disease. You may see about quality control and assurance, accreditation and overall quality direction of a diagnostic laboratory. As a graduate you may play a critical role in the discovery, identification and treatment for disease, working in a team with physicians, nurses, pathologists and other caregivers. This course is the sole amount in Victoria professionally accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS). You'll tackle two semesters of supervised professional practice across your third and fourth years to give you work-ready abilities and experience in a diagnostic lab. RMIT's Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine) is the only degree in Victoria Which is professionally accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) and the only Australian degree accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) in the United Kingdom. This grants RMIT graduates automatic membership of AIMS and assists with job potential as scientists. You'll be eligible for membership of the New Zealand Institute of Medical Laboratory Science and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
