Business Information Management and Systems

This program is intended to offer students a greater understanding of the technologies and knowledge required for a successful career in business IT. Students will participate in some significant applied information systems team job together with application in a particular business area. They will gain technical skills in data analysis, ICT problem-solving and platform development. Additionally they will learn business information processes, preparation and project management. Real-world enterprise intelligence projects supply the hands on experience to make smart business decisions being a professional in this field. Business-focused IT subjects are based on information systems architecture, information systems managementand enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management, human computer interaction, business intelligence, entrepreneurship and IT data warehousing, knowledge management, IT project management and decision support systems.

The Guru of Business Information Management and Systems is conditionally licensed by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).Membership may require an application to the expert body and could have additional or ongoing requirements past the completion of the degree. • An Australian Bachelor's degree in any field or an approved equivalent qualification
• Entry can be granted to applicants without an undergraduate degree but with five or even more years of relevant work experience
• In producing an offer to an applicant, the university can be aware to a range of factors including English proficiency, academic record and job experience
• NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee that an offer of a place. Entry into most of La Trobe classes relies on competitive selection and there can be limited places available.
