Chemical Physics

This major combines chemistry and physics, with an emphasis on laboratory work. Chemical physics recognizes the close links between many areas of physics and chemistry, such as the use of x-ray diffraction to determine molecular structure. The Chemical Physics major provides a broader background than a major in either physics or chemistry, and hence opens the door to a wider variety of possible careers in industry, government, or university. Students choosing the Co-op option will complete their degree in five years.Career opportunities may be availalbe in forensic science, materials science research, environmental analysis, drug synthesis and design, electronics design, and biotechnology.
