Chemical Sciences

This program provides chemistry scholars using additional/advanced learning specialised regions of chemical composition, such as analytic chemistry, computational chemistry, and medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry, and instrumental procedures. The degree provides employment opportunities in a wide range of science-based businesses and research labs, and it is suited to those operating in emerging sectors like biotechnology.

Supporters of the Master of Chemical Sciences may apply for membership with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Membership could be subject to additional or continuing conditions beyond finishing the amount. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.

• The minimum entrance requirement is successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree (or its equivalent)
• Successful applicants are required to possess a 75% Weighted Average Mark (WAM) in a former qualification, in a related area of analysis, in disciplines such as social, physical or biological sciences, medical or education
• Before learning developed by relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be equivalent to that obtained through a Bachelor level, could be contemplated
• for creating an offer for an applicant, the University will give consideration to a range of elements to determine whether an applicant has demonstrated that the capacity to work on a Masters degree, including academic record, English proficiency, or employment experience
• NB: Fulfilling minimal requirements does not guarantee an offer of an area. Entrance in to all La Trobe classes relies on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
