This degree is one of three undergraduate degrees in the Department. It is designed to prepare you for employment in nuclear or related industries, with a range of specialist modules in years three and four. You will also be encouraged to carry out project work relevant to nuclear power and every effort will be made to find you a relevant placement in the summer vacation period between the third and fourth year.
The first two years are shared by all three degrees, and cover basic science and mathematics and how they apply to practical engineering problems. During this time you will analyse a variety of chemical processes, and learn about the many ways of contacting, reacting and separating different gases, liquids and solids on a large scale.
