This Program Is Currently offered as a joint initiative between UTS: Health Insurance and Tresillian Family Care Centres. Child and family caregivers work in partnership with parents while they know the skills of parenting and caring for the infant and growing child. The primary health care role of their family and child health nurse includes health instruction by parents, health promotion locally, group work and counseling for parents and caregivers, and health surveillance of infants and kids. Applicants don't have to be employees of Tresillian, nor don't should be concurrently employed in family and child health companies. The course prepares registered nurses to beginning training in the clinical nursing specialty of family and child health. This system of study is intended to build on nursing knowledge and skills to develop capacity to perform in a primary medical care setting with young kids and their families. The comprehensive study program focuses on infant care and child health, and also the promotion of both maternal and family wellbeing and health. The accompanying clinical experience program provides placements in community family and child health services in addition to Tresillian Family Care Centres. Career options include positions in primary health care companies, such as early youth health or community health centers, secondary degree agencies in family care centres or breastfeeding practices for mothers and babies, and tertiary services such as the ones offered by Tresillian or Karitane.
- UTS recognised bachelor level, or equivalent or higher qualification, or filed other evidence of general and professional qualifications that shows potential to pursue graduate studies. Registered nurses who do not need an undergraduate degree or degree but who have recent relevant work experience in a relevant field might also be eligible to work with. Such applicants must show evidence of their ability to undertake tertiary study. Applicants should possess one year old post-registration clinical experience. The English competency requirement of local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
