We offer PhD and MPhil degrees on both full-time and part-time bases. Off-campus modes of study may be available in some circumstances, particularly where candidates have industrial sponsorship. You are provided with formal training in research methods for engineers and encouraged to attend appropriate taught modules to supplement your research training. We are dedicated to excellence in research degrees. Our programmes include intensive subject-specific supervision and training in research methodologies and core skills. There are also opportunities to undertake paid laboratory demonstrating and tutoring to gain teaching experience.
Our Science, Agriculture and Engineering Graduate School provides training in professional/key skills and research techniques, supports personal development, hosts postgraduate events and has links with several specialist graduate training networks.
