The Master of Clinical Leadership at UNE provide students with the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge of health leadership roles at a postgraduate level. It is a flexible distance education program which allows students to study a generic Masters course in Clinical Leadership or focus on leadership in one of two specialty areas: 1) Health Management and Leadership, or 2) Clinical Education and Teaching.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of this course will be prepared to assume leadership roles across a range of healthcare disciplines, roles and contexts. This course is designed to reflect a range of heath reform agendas to build leadership capacity in clinical environments.
Course Aims
The aim of this course is to prepare health professionals for clinical leadership roles. They may specialise in either health management and leadership or clinical education and teaching, or a combination of both.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
* demonstrate current knowledge of health leadership reform agendas and integrate it for application in the healthcare industry;
* recognise the roles of clinical leaders and apply learning to leadership roles in healthcare and/or clinical education settings;
* evaluate and discuss contemporary social, political and professional expectations of clinical leadership roles;
* demonstrate the ability to read, understand and critically review relevant scholarly and research papers; and
* prepare oral and written reports to a level appropriate for health leaders.
