This program permits students to examine innovative strategies to promote nutritious lifestyle choices and prevent diet-related illness through use of communicating. Health professionals with superior communication skills and ability to utilize the power of networking technologies will make important contributions to improving the quality of life, both locally and internationally. After introductory studies in human anatomy, health science, and communicating, students may complete components that research health instruction and behaviour, exercise and sports nutrition, and most facets of media including societal programs, myth-busting, and globalisation. Throughout final year, students can complete a professional placement in industry or complete a project that'll refine their skills in creation, execution, monitoring and appraisal.
Graduates are eligible for membership of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) along with the Nutrition Society.
- Year 12, or equivalent
- Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature, or English as an Additional Language (Units 4 & 3, C)
- General Mathematics, or Mathematical Procedures, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 4 & 3, C)
- And Chemistry (Units 4 & 3, C)
