Community Services

This qualification reflects that the roles of community agencies, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, communities and groups. At this level, workers have specialized skills in community work and services autonomously under broad guidelines from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or categories of people. Workers might also have responsibility for the oversight of other workers and volunteers and/or instance direction; application ethics or the growth of new small business opportunities.Note that the Statutory & Staff kid, childhood & family welfare specialisationmust be performed in orderto meet the minimum education requirements for child protection and youth justice training in Victoria. Additionally, to fulfill minimum education requirements for entrance into child protection training in Victoria, diploma qualifications must be approved by the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA)To achieve this qualification, the candidate should have completed at least 100 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of components of competency.No law, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to the qualification at the time of publication.
