Educational organisation
Semester 1Master's students:
- choose an academic supervisor (mentor) who supervises Master's project and thesis
- choose a study specialisation (study profile) according to their interests and in consultation with their mentor
- complete 30 advanced course credits (30 ECTS)
Semesters 2 and 3
Master's seminar (4 ECTS), Master's project (9 ECTS)
Master's students complete the remaining advanced course credits (47 ECTS).
Semester 4
Master's thesis (30 ECTS) and Master's colloquium (thesis defence)

Course objectives
A Master's degree in Computer and Information Science provides students with the opportunity to specialise in a particular area of computer or information science, especially with regard to topics pertaining to the exploration of large volumes of data (data mining), visualisation (visual computing), and human-computer interaction.Language requirements
Applicants must provide proof of their English proficiency of at least level B2 (CEFR). The following options are accepted:- Native speaker or Bachelor's degree from one of the following countries only: USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa
- Evidence of five years continuous English classes, level German secondary school up to Abitur, minimum grade "befriedigend" (satisfactory) or better
- Successful completion of a minimum of four courses held in English in a previous relevant study programme in Germany or the Bologna area
- TOEFL (Internet-based): 90 (Institution Code, Name and Type: B226 U Konstanz Dept Comp/Info Sci)
- IELTS (academic test): 6
- Cambridge First Certificate in English: C

4) GRE revised General Test: 155 for each section (Designated Institution Code (DI): 7174)
The GRE test is mandatory for applicants with a non-Bologna-degree (155 credits for each section: Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning Score)!
