This broad based, five year program encompasses all aspects of dental clinic with a special focus in tropical, rural and Indigenous practice. The curriculum integrates basic sciences with dental clinical sciences and preventative oral health strategies. There's early exposure to clinical practice, with a growing percentage of this curriculum dedicated to the acquisition of clinical skills. The last year is dedicated entirely to clinical experience with all students undertaking clinical placement in Queensland Health dental facilities around northern Queensland.
Australian Dental Council
- Year 12 or equivalent
- English (Units 3/4( C), mathematical methods (Units 3/4, C), chemistry (Units 3/4, C). Recommended: Science (Units 3/4( C). Students must meet the requirements for clinical positioning: immunisation
- Current Queensland Medical and CPR certifications
- Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card)
- Australian Federal Police check.
