Deakin's Master of Dietetics has full accreditation from the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). Applicants must hold a 3 year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant cognate field (for example: science, health sciences, nutrition, food science, exercise science, biomedical science, allied health or nursing) over the previous 10 years out of an approved university or other educational association. Students that have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant cognate field has to demonstrate learning in Human Biosciences and Food and Nutrition Science as clarified below: Bio Chemistry quite happy with Chemistry (0.25 EFTSL) followed closely by bio-chemistry (0.25 EFTSL); Individual Physiology quite happy together with Individual Biology (0.25 EFTSL) followed closely by Individual Physiology (0.25 EFTSL) (0.25 EFTSL is comparable to 2 Deakin credit issues ) Applicants will also be expected to have performed at least 4 components (equal to 4 Deakin credit issues ) of nutrition and food science study covering articles concerning axioms of nutrition, life span nutrition diet and disorder and food science.
