Disability Practice

The Master of Disability Practice is a fully online course designed and taught by leading Research Workers in La Trobe University's Coping with Disability Research Centre. The Living with Disability Research Centre is one of Australia's pre-eminent research centres that excels in the knowledge and improving service and practice systems that support individuals with cognitive disabilities to be contained in society. This course provides professionals in diverse contexts by having a chance to produce knowledge and skills to improve their confidence and clinic at working directly with people with disabilities along with their loved ones. It will also induce them to understand the current disability landscape in a time of significant reform and undertake disadvantage through system degree change. Students will acquire a strong grounding in research methods involving literature review and develop a supervised industry job within an disability-related subject, culminating in the entry of a little research study.

Academic level: Australian Bachelor's degree (or equivalent). Alternate entry: Advanced Diploma in a disability-related discipline, with 2 years of work experience. Non-cognate or non-Bachelor qualified students will be evaluated on a case by case basis. In creating an offer to an applicant, the University can pay attention to a range of factors to determine whether a candidate has demonstrated the capability to work on a postgraduate level, for example academic record, English proficiency, and/or employment experience. Pathways: Students who apply for entrance into this course from alternate pathways, is going to be evaluated on a case by case basis to ensure appropriate underpinning knowledge in a minumum of one of the next areas: Behavioural Sciences, Social Studies and/or Human Welfare Studies and Services.
