In order to be accepted into the double bass programme, applicants must demonstrate a strong musical background and a commitment to excellence. All applicants must have a minimum of two years of private instruction on the double bass, or equivalent experience. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a strong knowledge of music theory and sight-reading skills.

We also require applicants to submit a recorded audition. This audition should include two contrasting pieces of music, one of which should be a solo piece. The audition should also include a brief introduction of the applicant and a discussion of their musical background.
