Requirements

  • Applicants for the MPhil stream should hold, or expect to hold by the time of admission, a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or related disciplines, normally with Second Class Honours or overall average result of B or above.
  • Submit one of the following original score reports/certificates for assessment*:
  • TOEFL (not lower than 550 Paper-based; 213 computer-based; and 79 internet-based);
  • IELTS (Academic) (not lower than overall score Band 6.5);
  • GMAT (Verbal, not lower than 21);
  • Updated curriculum vitae;
  • Official transcript of academic records of all tertiary level studies, to be sent directly by the original university/institution to our Division;
  • Confidential recommendations from two referees, to be sent directly by the referees to our Division by post or by e-mail to eas@cuhk.edu.hk;
  • Copy of certificates of academic/professional qualifications (e.g., degree and graduation certificates);
  • Original of documentary proof of fulfillment of the English Language Proficiency Requirement;
  • Copy of the HKID card or other identity document as given in the Application Form;
