Do you want to improve education, or make educational policy? This Master's programme teaches you to analyse education from a system's point of view.
The master Educational Effectiveness and Instructional Design is an English language version of a Dutch Master's programme, adapted for international students. The programme combines the American empirical tradition with the more European qualitative and normative discussion about education.
During this one-year Master's programme, you will study the contexts, processes and outcomes of education. The aim is to improve education by focusing on issues related to quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
The core curriculum is provided by the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences. Taking courses at other faculties is possible. You may, for example, want to focus on the history of European education, workplace education, or information technology.
During your first semester, you will strengthen your knowledge on statistics, methodologies and educational theories.
The second semester is reserved for your Master's thesis. Because of the international nature of the programme, theses will ideally be researched in your home country and concentrate upon the nation's educational policy or theory.
