> Technology is intelligent.

Embedded technologies are becoming predominant in many industries, from industrial machinery to medical equipment, from aerospace and the auto industry to consumer electronics. The main reason for this development is that embedded computing systems the electronics, the hardware, and the software are becoming increasingly ubiquitous and pervasive, offering more complex functions and advanced features. This trend will continue unabated and allows for entirely new applications as well as emerging technologies.

Embedding intelligence In general, most people are unaware of persistently interacting with embedded computers there are for example some 50 computers within a typical middleclass vehicle. Todays society depends on embedded computing, therefore all the well known dependability issues like reliability, safety, and security have to be considered very carefully. The masters degree program Embedded Systems helps students to obtain the specific skills and abilities required to develop, employ and maintain such systems. The program focuses on the design of trustworthy hardware and software for safety-critical applications, in line with all the dependability requirements. The courses are centered on analysis, modeling, integration of IP modules, as well as simulation and test procedures. Coursework is highly practical, and based on the well-founded scientific state-of-the-art of relevant disciplines.

Relevant topics Technology Software Design for Embedded Systems, Dependable Systems, Embedded Control Systems, ASIC Design, System-on-Chip Design, System Architectures for Embedded Systems Management Project and Product Management, Process Management Soft Skills Teamwork and Leadership Skills, Societal Impact Studies Master's thesis Issues related to industry, Linked to R&D projects
