Description
This unique programme covers all of these subjects but enhances them by incorporating environmental issues, such as recycling, water treatment and environmental protection. At the end of the first three years, you can graduate with a BSc in Environmental Civil Engineering, though completion of year 4 leads to an Honours degree in Environmental Civil Engineering. The first three years of the programme offer a broad grounding in civil, structural and environmental engineering. Year 4 further develops the environmental aspects of the programme. The programme has been accredited by the Engineering Council as an approved programme leading to the professional designation of Incorporated Engineer.
Our degree is unique in that it incorporates environmental issues into all aspects of your learning, giving you skills which are valuable to employers and beneficial to the world in which we live. This degree will also provide you with a range of skills in planning, design and construction.This unique programme incorporates all of the main principles of the discipline; Structures and Foundations, Energy, Transport and Water and enhances these by incorporating environmental issues such as Recycling, Water Treatment and Environmental Protection.The degree draws from teaching across the many construction disciplines offered in the School of the Built and Natural Environment, the biggest school of its kind in Scotland.

Course Content
- Year 1: Studies will develop a good foundation level of Civil Engineering, Surveying and Structures.
- Year 2: Principles of Hydraulics, Contracts Management, Structural Design and Geotechnics amongst other subjects.
- Year 3: As well as undertaking a work placement for six to eight months, studies include Structural, Ground and Water Engineering.
- Year 4: Honours project, Environmental Civil Engineering subjects such as Water Quality & Treatment, Waste Management and Environmental Protection.
Work Placement
Students have the opportunity to undertake an accredited work placement at the end of Level 2, returning to university study for Semester B of Level 3.
Assessment
A variety of assessment methods, including coursework activities and formal examinations.

IELTS band : 6 CAE score : 60(Grade C)
