Description

The organisation of events like the Olympics, music festivals, and business conferences is varied and fast-moving work. The content of our course, and its wide opportunities for practical experience, will give you an advantage when it comes to applying for stimulating jobs.

Practical modules include Staging Events in Level 1 and Managing the Event in Level 2. You will organise events from day one at University and have the option to do work placements, helping you gain critical knowledge on the management of events as well as gain work experience.

We encourage our students to undertake a year-long placement between the second and final year, although it is not compulsory. It’s a great opportunity to put your learning into practice and to extend your experiences further.

Sunderland is highly regarded for management as well as for tourism, hospitality and events. It’s ranked no.1 in the North East for student satisfaction with teaching of business and management studies, according to The Guardian University Guide 2012.
