The MSc in Finance and Management is a one-year full-time course designed for both graduates looking to develop their knowledge of finance and management before seeking a first professional role, and for individuals who already have work experience in the area of finance or management and are looking to move ahead in their career.

The course combines a solid grounding in finance and management principles with rigorous training in relevant tools and techniques and how to apply them in the workplace. It is taught by our team of faculty experts who have extensive industry experience and who regularly work with major global financial services organisations, multinationals and government agencies around the world.

The course has also been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Programme.

The Full-time Masters in Finance and Management is a one-year course that starts in September each year.

  • Term 1: 29 September 2014 to 19 December 2014
  • Term 2: 12 January 2015 to 27 March 2015
  • Term 3: 13 April 2015 to 26 June 2015
  • Term 4: 29 June 2015 to 11 September 2015

The Masters in Finance and Management course has been developed to produce practical, proactive finance specialists, so our teaching methods deliberately encourage the co-production of ideas and knowledge sharing, self-development and team working.

Our teaching methods include a diverse range of stimulating learning experiences, with emphasis placed on real-world challenges. Modules include a mix of:

  • Sessions hosted by industry speakers

You will also undertake an individual research project that will give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you have learnt to a specific financial issue in your chosen organisation. Through this practical exercise, you can create real value for your partner organisation, whilst at the same time enhancing your own learning and development.

Your progress throughout the course will be assessed through a combination of assignments, presentations, examinations and individual and group projects. This reinforces the emphasis we place on the application of learning and encourages you to find your own solutions to business issues.

Audience

The Cranfield MSc in Finance and Management postgraduate degree is distinctive in covering the principles, tools and techniques of both finance and management, as well as how to apply them in real work situations.

This one-year full-time course is delivered over four terms covering core modules, electives and an individual research project.

Have a good standard of English The participative nature of the course demands a high oral ability and written work needs a strong business vocabulary. If English is not your first language, you must take one of the following:Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – a minimum score of 92 is required (Important: this test is not currently accepted by the UK Home Office for Tier 4 (General) visa applications). The ETS DI Code for TOEFL is 0822. Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) – a minimum score of 800 is required (part 1). Applicants from outside the EU are also required to take part 2 of the test. (Important: this test is not currently accepted by the UK Home Office for Tier 4 (General) visa applications). International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – band 6.5 is required, with writing of 6.5. These are awarded at the course director's discretion and are based on merit as well as considerations of financial need.
