Food, Agriculture, and Resource Economics prepares students for careers as economic analysts in the agrifood sector and in public agencies. In addition, this major provides an excellent background for those students planning to pursue graduate work in agricultural and resource economics and other areas of applied economics. For students from rural areas who want to work in the growing agri-food sector but do not want to farm, this is an ideal degree. For students planning to farm, the Department provides strong training in farm management, including a strong emphasis in agricultural science. There is also an emphasis on team work, leadership, and communication skills.

Field of study: Agricultural Economics
