The courses we offer range from introductory to advanced levels and enable students in advanced levels to specialize in areas such as language, literature, and linguistics. For students seeking an exciting, culturally immersive experience, the department holds a two month field school in Tours, France, where students in their third or fourth year of study can take three intensive, third year courses. A new French language laboratory enhances language acquisition and provides students and faculty with course materials and resources. The French Student Union is active and organizes activities such as French films, outings in the French community and fetes. This program is offered at the Burnaby campus.
