Graduate courses for Master's Degree studies have various domains, e.g. studies on minerals and fossils, structural, geophysical and hydrogeological studies.  These studies enrich the way of thinking of the students towards working in a variety of geosciences professions such as exploration and production in companies dealing with petroleum, mineral, mining, ground water, geological mapping, site selection and engineering projects; besides the teaching profession.

Program Objectives:

  2. To prepare the graduate student for Ph.D. programs in the field of Geology
  3. To develop the graduate's academic capability to carry out independent scientific research and to present the research results in both applied and academic fields.
  4. To ensure the availability of highly trained indigenous scientific manpower in the fields of geosciences.

Requirements

  • Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Geology or a related field from universities in Saudi Arabia or their equivalent.
  • Pass the exam and interview
  • Obtain a minimum score on TOEFL or IELTS. Internet-based TOEFL 61, Computer-based TOEFL 173, Paper-based TOEFL 500, IELTS 6
  • Proving a good conduct and being medically fit.
  • Submitting two academic recommendations from professors who have taught applicant.
  • Employer's approval, if applicant is an employee; in very limited circumstances this approval may be postponed until enrollment into courses.
