    The College of Business Administration (CBA) is one of the pioneer colleges of KSU, which was established in 1959. During the five decades of its prominence, the CBA has educated many business professionals, managers, entrepreneurs, leaders and political figures; and has seen its graduates' progress to prestigious appointments in Saudi Arabia and other countries. The CBA is imparting knowledge and skills to students that are required and preferred by the potential employers.   • College of sciences

    One of the oldest colleges at King Saud University, the College of Sciences was founded in 1378-1379 H. (corresponding to 1958/1959 A.D.) as the first scientific college in the Arabian Peninsula. It has ever since made great efforts to accompany the country's comprehensive progress in scientific, industrial and technological fields. Demands for the college were peerless and extended all expectations.

    Progress of the College of Sciences was not merely numerical; it was also a genuinely scientific progress that took into consideration escorting the scientific advancement in Basic Sciences; hence, possibilities available for both instructors and students have increased noticeably.  At the time when it was founded, the College of Sciences shared with the College of Arts the same building as well as the same lecture halls; its laboratories at the time did not exceed five in number, but now the College has its own independent building, the number of premises has gradually increased, and laboratories now number over seventy in different departments, in addition to many lecture halls and other academic premises.

    Since its foundation, the College of Sciences has gone a long way in its progress and development.  Indeed, the College is one of the educational institutions which provide the Kingdom with the required number of well-qualified graduates who will work in diverse academic and scientific fields such as universities, ministries, and companies.     Since the establishment of the College, thousands of qualified students have graduated in different areas of specialization.  The College has always prided itself on having designed in its teaching plans an essential scientific basis that enables students to acquire solid knowledge in their initial years of study and to gain advanced levels of knowledge of practical scientific nature in accordance with the student's area of specialization.  In some departments, students spend their final year of study doing practical courses, while others receive training in courses that require field or laboratory practice.   • College of Architecture and Planning

    The College of Architecture and Planning was founded in 1984G with the Department of Architecture and Building Science as its nucleus. It was then the first academic institute of architecture in the Arabian Peninsula. In fact, the establishment of this department dates back to the year 1967G.

    It can be said that the College of Architecture and Planning with both of its Departments of Architecture and Building Science on the one hand and Architectural Planning on the other constitutes an important part of human knowledge that combines both science and art in addition to its being firmly related to other forms of art and humanities. Dedicated architects and planners are very much concerned with upholding the community and its cultural heritage. They put in perspective both the past and the future of the nation in order to achieve originality and meet its needs in addition to serving the local milieu and culture as well as developing them within the framework of their architectural identity and uniqueness.
    The College offers a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Building Science or in Architectural Planning. This requires 160 credit hours divided into 10 academic levels over a period of five years. The College’s graduates have the same opportunity as their engineering counterparts with respect to employment in the civil sector.

    Studying at the College of Architecture and Planning has a special character in that it addresses a number of pressing issues in the life of the individual and the community as a whole. It is for this reason that the goals of the College are not simply concerned with theoretical research and studies but also with assigning the College a much larger and more effective role in devising solutions for a number of problems faced by the community in the areas of architecture, building science and architectural planning. In addition to this, the College of Architecture and Planning works in conjunction with several government bodies to help carry out a number of realistic projects.
    This constitutes an opportunity for the students to benefit from such projects in so far as their theoretical studies are concerned. By the same token the government bodies may benefit from the diverse academic expertise offered by the College.

  • College of Food & Agriculture Sciences

    Agriculture contributes substantially to the national income and millions of people in Saudi Arabia are directly or indirectly involved in agriculture. Therefore, it is necessary to direct human, land and water resources for the benefit of an extensive agricultural improvement that keeps the contribution of agriculture sector to the national income at a high level. To achieve this goal, there was a need for an advanced agricultural institution. College of Food and Agricultural Sciences (formerly known as the College of Agriculture) was then founded at King Saud University in 1965 and the first group of students were admitted in the same year. The college prepares students for the provision of agriculture, food and environment. Many Saudi and Arab experts and researchers who are forming the base of the current agricultural development in the Kingdom and Arab countries, have graduated from the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences. This resulted in an expansion in cultivated area and an increase in food production including wheat, palm dates, dairy and poultry products, fish and vegetables.

    The College was situated in a beautiful palace in Olaishah, a neighborhood in western part of Riyadh City. In 1985, the College was moved to its new location along with other colleges at King Saud University main campus at Dirieah. It is comprised of eight departments issuing 10 B.Sc, and 13 M.Sc programs (in addition to 2 joint programs in biological diversity and environmental studies) and 3 Ph.D programs in Animal Production, Soil Science and Human nutrition for females. During the academic year of (1982-1983), a new major in nutrition and home economics was founded at the college. This major provided the Saudi girls with an educational opportunity preparing them for the provision of social care, nutrition within the context of the Islamic rules and Saudi social traditions.

    The College occupies building number 2, a three story building. Offices of the college administration, heads of departments, faculty members, administration of Agricultural Research and Experiment Station, Agriculture Research Center and Agricultural Extension Center are located at the second floor of the building. Class rooms, laboratories are situated at the first and ground floors. Laboratories are facilitated with modern equipment and apparatuses. This is reflected in students' achievements and quality of postgraduate and faculty research.

  • College of Engineering

    The College of Engineering is one of the oldest colleges in the region, established in 1962. Many changes and development mark these years of growth and accomplishments. Today, the College has six engineering departments: civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, petroleum and gas, and industrial engineering; offering seven B.Sc. programs and 14 graduate programs leading to M.Sc. and PhD degrees. There are more than 2,500 students, over 300 high quality faculty members and several research entities specialized in energy, water, petrochemicals and advanced technologies.

    The College always strives to educate fine engineers while maintaining close working relationships with the community.   • College Of Nursing

    The College of Nursing was established in 1977 to be a loop within the system of health colleges in Saudi Arabia, as a tributary of national qualified nursing staff. The staff capable of dealing with various health related conditions, in an efficient and effective way at all three levels of health care systems (preventive, curative and rehabilitation) in response to the requirements of Saudi community and labor market. Furthermore, our aim is to keep them abreast of changes in scientific developments at the local, regional and global levels.

    The College of Nursing has grown significantly since its inception in 1977 as a department affiliated to the College of Applied Medical Sciences and it awarded a bachelor's degree (BSN) in nursing. The College trend continued and moved forward at a fast and constant pace through its ambition and plans, designed to improve the quality of the educational outcomes.

    The quadrate program was launched in 1988 with a program leading to a degree of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The MSN program of study is designed to build upon the general preparation of the first professionally qualified baccalaureate degree holders to feed the Saudi labor market with highly qualified leaders in nursing, capable to manage, treat and make the appropriate decision when dealing with severe as well as chronic medical cases through a proper scientific analysis, critical thinking, and evidence based practices. The specialty tracks offered are Nursing Administration and Education, Adult Health Nursing, Psychiatry and Community Health Nursing, Maternal and Child Health Nursing.

  • College of Pharmacy

    The College of Pharmacy was established in 1959 (1379 H), two years after the foundation of King Saud University (Formerly named as Riyadh University). A four- year pharmacy curriculum was adopted, with an enrollment of seventeen students in the first year, who commenced their studies under the guidance of three faculty members in four departments, namely, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. By the first semester of 1979-1980 (1399-1400 H), there were 35 faculty members and more than 350 students enrolled in a five-year program. This academic year witnessed the establishment of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy as the fifth department of the college. Since its foundation, the College of Pharmacy is continuously updating its curriculum, to keep pace with the rapidly evolving pharmacy profession. In 1975 (1395 H), new patient oriented courses were introduced, while in 1979 (1399 H) a new curriculum emphasizing the pharmacist’s role in patient care was adopted, encompassing the expansion in clinical pharmacy and other supporting courses.

    In 1993 (1413 H), a new curriculum consisting of 10 one semester levels was adopted. The basic health science courses were reduced to 14 credit hours, offered in the first level. The student chooses one of the professional areas (20 credit hours), offered in the ninth level. In the tenth level, the student receives training in various areas of the pharmacy profession. In 1982 (1402 H), a curriculum for graduate studies was adopted, for the M.Sc. degree in various departments. The college departments are involved in the continuous evaluation of their graduate programs to keep up with the developments of various fields.

    Based upon the unlimited support for higher education from the Saudi Government, the College of Applied Medical Sciences (CAMS) at King Saud University (KSU)is keen to improve its educational environment for its students male and female. Because of the importance of CAMS and its great contributions in the development of health services, KSU accord to CAMS a great support for all of its activities. The quality of students learning outcomes is mainly based on the quality of learning environment and resources, including curriculums, faculty and facilities.     At King Saud University College of Dentistry, we are planning to create an academic environment in which dental education, research and patient oral health care occur concurrently and each one updates and advances the other. It is our obligation to put science into dental practice in an innovative conduct.
    Our aim is to make the university vision be realized, in part through the College of Dentistry's new facilities. At present, we are working hard to create two super-sized buildings, one of them would be allocated to the female students and the other a dental hospital. We are working together with the University Administration to furnish them with the latest technology-infused equipments to have the modern research laboratories, clinics, conference area and lecture rooms. We have designed these state-of-the-art facilities to ensure that we are competent to face critical challenges in providing the finest dental education, research and oral health services.

    KSU’s College of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity (CSSPA) is a diverse scientific center with various sub-disciplines and a comprehensive educational system leading to Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees.
    CSSPA graduates may be employed in several fields needed by the community such as schools, higher education, sports clubs, leisure andrecreation centers, fitness and health centers, sports marketing and broadcasting, sports journalism, sports management, armed forces and police as well as the public health sector.     The college of Education was established in 1386-1387H (1966-1967), pursuant to the agreement between the Ministry of Education and the united nation development program. The Ministry of Education has worked in cooperation with UNISCO to accomplish this project of establishment. In 8/5/1387H, a Royal Decree No 9/11, was issued to integrate the College of Education into King Saud University.

    The College administration is aware of the importance of creating an attractive learning environment in the light of the current challenges, through the diversification of teaching methods, the use of technology in teaching and learning, and the access to learning resources, especially electronic one.
