The Graduate Certificate in Health Research is appropriate for health professionals wishing to upskill in technical skills and comprehension from health research procedures. Students develop research capacity in learning, assessing, and designing health research, and this provides them with solid foundations to pursue additional research training, such as an Master of Research. The level helps students to employ evidence-based practice (EBP) into clinical decision making processes, which is now recognized as being a core competency across a range of medical occupations. Students graduate with core research methods including understanding research designs and formulating research questions, data acquisition and analysis, interpretation of research studies and their clinical relevance.

Completed bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent. Where applicants hold educational qualifications lower than bachelor level (eg Measure 6 AQF) an incident could possibly be made on the grounds of both meritous performance while inside the educational qualifications, relevant professional work experience or books. The case must be approved by the Program Director.
