Welcome to the Horn Programme at the Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky

The Horn Programme at the Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky is designed to provide students with the highest level of instruction in the art of playing the horn. Our faculty of experienced and dedicated teachers will guide you through the fundamentals of horn playing, from basic technique to advanced performance. We offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes instruction in solo and ensemble performance, music theory, and music history.

Our faculty is committed to helping you develop your skills and reach your full potential as a horn player. We offer individual lessons, group classes, and master classes to help you hone your technique and develop your musicality. We also provide opportunities for you to perform in recitals and concerts, both on and off campus.

Requirements for the Horn Programme at the Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky

The Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky offers a comprehensive Horn Programme for prospective students. The programme is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful horn players.

In order to be accepted into the Horn Programme, applicants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the horn. This includes a strong understanding of the fundamentals of horn playing, as well as a good grasp of music theory and sight-reading. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the study of the horn and a willingness to work hard.

Applicants must also submit a portfolio of their work, which should include recordings of their playing, as well as written compositions and/or arrangements. The portfolio should demonstrate the applicant's level of skill and creativity.

Finally, applicants must pass an audition in order to be accepted into the Horn Programme. The audition will assess the applicant's technical and musical abilities, as well as their overall musicianship.

Our faculty is comprised of some of the most respected and experienced horn players in the world, and our curriculum is designed to give students the skills and knowledge they need to become successful professional musicians.

The Horn programme at the Institute of Music Studies of P.I. Tchaikovsky offers students a comprehensive education in all aspects of horn playing. Students will learn the fundamentals of horn playing, including technique, tone production, and interpretation. They will also gain an understanding of the history and literature of the horn, as well as the fundamentals of music theory and composition. Our faculty will provide students with individualized instruction and guidance, helping them to develop their own unique style and sound.

In addition to the technical and theoretical aspects of horn playing, our Horn programme also offers students the opportunity to perform in a variety of ensembles. Students will have the chance to perform in chamber music, symphonic, and jazz ensembles, as well as solo recitals.
