This application was designed for an extensive, ambitious and contemporary program, dependent on some Information Systems (IS) executive core competencies created through extensive IS skills from the United States and the European Union. The program is accepted by the Australian Computer Society at the expert level, and prepares graduates for professional practice at the communications and information technology (ICT) industry.

- For entry to the one year application (with credits): A recognised Honours degree (with a research thesis) in information systems, information technology or computer science, and with a Second upperclass (2.1) (usually 75%) or superior
- or perhaps a recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in information systems, information technology or computer science with a credit average (65% or more ) as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator
- And in the least two years fulltime employment experience. For entry to the 1.5 yr application (without credits): A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (65% or more ) as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator
- And at least 12 months fulltime employment experience.
