Geneva is the hub of global International Relations, and Webster's undergraduate university degree is at the heart of it.

Interested in globalization, economic development, security, migration, or human rights? Our International Relations program in Geneva teaches you to analyze these and other major issues facing the world today.

Drawing on both academic and professional experience, our faculty and prominent guest speakers provide a broad, interdisciplinary training in the field of international relations. You can also study a number of important issues in depth through an emphasis in either Economics or Refugee Studies.

Your learning isn’t confined to lectures — you’ll also be confronted with topical issues through a variety of events and activities. These include study trips as well as our internationally recognized Annual Humanitarian Conference. You will benefit from the resources available in Geneva, where you can attend meetings and conferences and establish professional contacts with experts. And by studying with a diverse group of students from all over the world, you’ll gain valuable insights and a broader perspective.

Course Content

Degree requirements:

• 51 credit hours: required courses
• 30 credit hours: global citizenship program courses
• 47 credit hours: elective courses

All students seeking a BA degree in International relations are required to complete 51 credit hours within the department. This must include a course in Methods, in International Law, a Senior Thesis (optional) and the Senior Overview. students need to choose an emphasis (15 credits) in either Migration / Refugee Studies, or in International Economics.

The required 51 credit hours must include 12 of the following courses:

Freshmen are admitted to the University following the successful completion of a twelve-year American high school program or its international equivalent as recognized by Webster.

Students whose native or predominant language is not English may need additional English proficiency that requires them to enroll in English as a Second Language (ESL).
