The course involves study in Cortland, New York State, and London, UK. London Metropolitan University is proud to be working with SUNY: their sport management provision is recognised as amongst the very best in the USA. Successful completion will give you two Masters degrees - one from London Met and one from SUNY. This unusual dual award gives you an increased chance of professional employment in international sport, wherever you wish to work.
Another unusual feature of the course is that it involves a four month internship period anywhere in the world, giving students valuable work experience in the industry. With more and more internationally focused sporting events taking place around the world, there is a growing need for appropriately trained managers who have a global perspective. The 2012 London Olympic Games has also produced a need for competent sporting professionals with an international education, before, during, and after the games themselves.
Career opportunities
This unique dual award will give you sports management expertise in two different countries with highly developed, but very different sports business and sports systems. You will also gain an awareness and understanding of international sporting issues from different cultural perspectives.
